screenjson-viewer opens ScreenJSON files as a native application. It wraps the
same rendering stack as @screenjson/ui in a Tauri 2
shell, so a screenplay looks identical in the browser and on the desktop.

Platforms
- Windows
- macOS
- Linux
- iOS
- Android
What it does
- Opens local
.jsonScreenJSON files, through the file dialog or by association withapplication/vnd.screenjson+json - Rejects invalid JSON and non-ScreenJSON files with a readable error rather than a blank page
- Prompts for a password on encrypted screenplays and decrypts in memory only
- Renders through
@screenjson/ui, so pagination, themes, language switching and the metadata panel behave exactly as they do on the web - Keeps a reader-first layout that adapts from phone to desktop widths
Install from source
@screenjson/ui from npm as an ordinary dependency, so no
extra step is needed to fetch the rendering library.
Run and build
tauri:android:* and tauri:ios:* scripts and need the
corresponding platform SDK installed.
